Are invoices processed in parallel or sequentially?

When a billing period ends, Lago generates invoices for all subscriptions due at that time, and those jobs run in parallel across customers rather than one after another. But parallel processing does not mean a customer with several subscriptions gets several invoices. By default, all of a customer's subscriptions billing on the same date are consolidated into a single invoice.

When a customer gets more than one invoice

Same-day subscriptions are split into separate invoices only when they differ in a way that prevents consolidation:

• Consolidation is turned off for a subscription.

• Different currencies: the subscriptions are billed in different currencies.

• Different billing entities: the subscriptions belong to different billing entities.

• Different payment methods: the subscriptions are set to charge different payment methods.

When none of these apply, the subscriptions are billed together into one invoice, even though the underlying generation work runs concurrently.
